DAN
GORDON
Accomplished on both the double bass and the tuba, Dan grew up in
Adelaide, where he played with the popular outfit etypejazz and appeared
with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, the Ray Charles Orchestra, Don
Burrows, Tommy Emmanuel and James Morrison. He spent 2000 and 2001
playing with the onboard orchestras of cruise ships in the United States
and Europe, before settling in Melbourne in 2002. He is currently
completing an Arts degree at LaTrobe University majoring in politics and
philosophy, while maintaining an active music career, playing with
Melbourne bands including the Radio Rhythm Orchestra, The Mood
Merchants,
Ruby Page and the Marinucci Trio. He is also in demand as a
freelance musician, and can often be found playing tuba in a wandering
dixieland band before rushing off to play bass guitar in a rock band or
double bass in a contemporary jazz ensemble. He is an experienced
composer and arranger.
